Mothercare - Improving the instore CX with POS

Looking to enhance the shopper experience in store, Mothercare asked for our help to revamp their suite of instore POS.

 Existing POS was inconsistent around the store, with lots of different messages all competing for attention. The plan was to create something much more simplistic, with a premium feel that wouldn’t distract the shopper eye from the products on display.

 Our client also highlighted an issue with their hanging product information and price tags used on products such as pushchairs, buggies and car seats. The tags were attached to the product with a tag gun which risked damage to the product displayed, so they asked to find a suitable alternative.

We worked with Mothercare on the redesign of a complete suite of POS including navigational signage, display headers, product backdrops and arm tags. New ‘Pac-Man’ style POS were created to draw shopper attention to special buys or deals in store.

We also designed a brand-new plastic wallet for product and price information that could be hung from products without the risk of causing damage. These wallets were uniquely designed specifically for their purpose in Mothercare stores and featured interchangeable slip pockets to make it easy for store staff to change price points and product information quickly.

The new POS was trialled in 2 of their stores to determine the response from customers before being rolled out across all 78 retail stores.
